Pro 4 - Mobile App Development Project

Project 4 was a mobile app development project. Ubiquitous mobile technology devices like smartphones and tablets provide platforms that harness the power of dashboards as information dissemination tools. In this assignment, we employed knowledge of different no code/low code tools to develop a mobile app that incorporated dashboard app aimed at drawing attention to innovative activities in social context of both SDG 4 & SDG 5.

Technology and connectivity play a very important role in the future of inclusive and quality education. But well-intentioned efforts at distributing devices will have limited sustainable impact. Rather, we need to shift to establishing an ecosystem that gives communities back their agency in the process of developing technology that meets their needs. Growing voices call for more emphasis on the need for technology and internet connectivity within the goals. In September 2020, the UN Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development called for digital connectivity to be established as a “foundational pillar” for achieving all the SDGs. In a document titled “Global Goal of Universal Connectivity Manifesto”, the Broadband Commission said: “As we define the ‘new normal’ for our post-COVID world, leaving no one behind means leaving no one offline.” (Global Citizen, 2016)
